Bruchsal workshop burglary triggers hazardous materials alarm
A hazardous materials alarm was triggered at a Lebenshilfe workshop for people with disabilities in Bruchsal, Germany, following a burglary. On Friday morning, an employee discovered signs of a break-in at the facility on Eisenbahnstraße.
Upon entering the building, police officers detected a pungent odor. This led to the deployment of specialized fire department units from Bruchsal and the KIT factory fire department from Karlsruhe. Emergency responders wearing protective suits and breathing apparatus entered the building to collect samples of the unknown substance.
No injuries have been reported, and the Eisenbahnstraße was fully closed during the operation. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
