Open Monument Days events held in Brugge, Merelbeke, and Weert

The Open Monument Days event is taking place across various regions in Belgium and the Netherlands, centered around the theme ‘In goede handen’ (In good hands) or ‘Veerkrachtig erfgoed’ (Resilient heritage).

In Brugge, the 38th edition features 19 locations and nine activities, offering insights into the restoration and management of historical sites, including bunkers and private residences. In Merelbeke-Melle, activities include tours of the Schelderomolen and exhibitions at the Sint-Bavokerk.

In Weert, the event focuses on the 200-year history of the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal, featuring an exhibition at the Paterskerk. Additionally, military training exercises are scheduled to take place in the municipality of Weert from September 9 to 11, 2026.
