Bruichladdich Distillery launches sustainable Greener Still whisky

Bruichladdich Distillery has announced the launch of ‘Greener Still’, a limited-edition 15-year-old unpeated single malt Scotch whisky. The release marks the 25th anniversary of the Islay-based distillery’s resurrection and serves to highlight environmental and social sustainability within the industry.

Unlike previous entries in the distillery’s ‘Still Series’ that focused on cask maturation, Greener Still emphasizes agricultural origins. The whisky is distilled from a blend of Organic, Biodynamic, and Bere barley. The organic barley is sourced from the Scottish mainland, the biodynamic barley is provided by Yatesbury House Farm in Wiltshire, England, and the Bere barley is grown on Orkney in collaboration with the University of the Highlands and Islands’ Agronomy Institute.

The whisky was matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels and is bottled at 51.6% ABV without added color or chill filtration. It is scheduled to be available via the distillery’s website and specialist retailers starting in August 2026, with a recommended retail price of £120.
