Brunei Sultan receives Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam received China’s Minister of National Defence, Admiral Dong Jun, at Istana Nurul Iman on Tuesday. The meeting focused on the ongoing strengthening of defence relations between the two nations.

Cooperation is currently facilitated through a Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation, a Joint Defence Working Committee, and the placement of defence attachés. Additionally, Brunei and China are serving as co-chairs of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts’ Working Group on Peacekeeping Operations for the 2024-2027 cycle.
