Bruno Barbieri releases autobiography ‘Controluce’

Renowned chef and television personality Bruno Barbieri has released his autobiography, titled ‘Controluce. Ombre e segreti di una vita’ (Controluce. Shadows and Secrets of a Life). The book was recently presented at the Accademia degli Erranti in Brindisi during a dialogue with journalist Fabio Mollica.

In the work, Barbieri moves beyond his professional achievements and Michelin stars to explore personal struggles, including betrayal by close associates he describes as ‘sharks’ who exploited his weaknesses. He reflects on the sanctity of friendship, his decision to leave his family home in his youth to pursue a career, and his complex relationship with success and money. The narrative focuses on themes of sacrifice, solitude, and the necessity of facing one's own shadows to achieve personal and professional growth.
