Bruno Dumont releases new Mediterranean drama ‘Les Roches Rouges’

Director Bruno Dumont has released a new film titled ‘Les Roches Rouges’, a coming-of-age drama set against the sun-drenched landscapes of the Côte d'Azur. Departing from his typical austere northern French settings, the film utilizes the bright blues of the Mediterranean and the ochre tones of the coastline to tell a story of childhood rivalries and discovery.

The narrative follows a group of young children, including a five-year-old boy named Géo, as they engage in summer games that serve as rites of passage. Described as ‘profoundly childish, joyful and free’, the film employs a quasi-documentary style to explore the complexities of group dynamics and the loss of innocence through the eyes of its young cast.
