São Paulo police seek arrest for man accused of sexual harassment at gym

The Civil Police of São Paulo have requested the preventive arrest of Bruno Edamatsu Berton following an investigation into sexual harassment at a gym in the city's South Zone. The victim, 28-year-old dentist Sabrina Coutinho, recorded video evidence of the suspect masturbating in her direction while she was exercising.

Berton provided testimony to the 99th Police District but denied the accusations. Authorities noted that the suspect is a repeat offender, having been the subject of a similar criminal action in June 2025 at a different fitness center.

The gym, Peralta Fitness, issued a statement repudiating the incident, confirming they have blocked the suspect from their facilities and are cooperating with authorities by providing security footage.
