Bruno Fernandes' home burgled during Manchester United Champions League trip
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes’ luxury home in Nether Alderley, Cheshire, was burgled on the night of Wednesday, October 21, while the midfielder was in Italy for a Champions League match against Como.
Three masked intruders reportedly entered the £4 million property by climbing a fence from adjacent woodland. Despite the home being equipped with advanced alarm systems and CCTV, the suspects spent approximately five minutes inside the residence, stealing designer jewelry and other high-value items before fleeing. A neighbor alerted authorities after spotting suspicious activity in a nearby garden.
Cheshire Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or CCTV footage to assist in identifying the suspects. Fernandes’ wife, Ana Pinho, and their two children were not at the home during the incident. Manchester United has confirmed it is providing support to the captain and his family.
The burglary coincides with a period of significant tension at Manchester United. Following a 4-1 defeat to Como, Fernandes publicly criticized the team's tactical approach, leading to speculation regarding his captaincy and mounting pressure on manager Michael Carrick.
