Bruno Fernandes named PFA Players' Player of the Year

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the PFA Players' Player of the Year for 2026. This award completes a triple crown of individual honors for the Portuguese midfielder, who also secured the Premier League Player of the Season title and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award.

During the 2025-2026 campaign, Fernandes set a new Premier League record with 21 assists and scored 9 goals. His performances contributed to Manchester United finishing third in the league. He has now recorded 110 goals and 106 assists in 314 appearances for the club, becoming the second fastest player in Premier League history to reach 200 direct goal contributions for a single club, trailing only Wayne Rooney.

Looking ahead to the new season, Fernandes expressed an ambition to win every match and stated that his primary focus remains on creating chances for his teammates to score rather than individual statistics.
