Bruno Guimarães misses training ahead of Arsenal vs Aston Villa fixture
Arsenal midfielder Bruno Guimarães missed a training session on Tuesday, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming match against Aston Villa. The Brazilian, who joined the club this summer for £75 million, is currently managing a thigh strain sustained during the Community Shield against Manchester City.
While Guimarães missed the session, manager Mikel Arteta previously suggested the injury would not sideline the player for weeks. Arteta noted the player's competitive mentality, stating, “He didn’t even want to stop. He wanted to carry on.”
Off the pitch, Guimarães has expressed his high ambitions for his first season at Arsenal. He stated that winning the Premier League and Champions League would be particularly special and joked that he might add tattoos to commemorate such achievements. He also noted that his choice of the number 39 shirt serves as a tribute to his father's history in Rio de Janeiro.
