Bruno Salomone Honored with New Penguin Birth at Sea Life Val d’Europe

French comedian Bruno Salomone died on 15 March at age 56. Four days later, on 17 July, a royal penguin chick was born at the Sea Life aquarium in Val d’Europe, Seine‑et‑Marne. The aquarium’s director, Audrey Salomone – Bruno’s wife – named the chick “Mokayyy”, a reference to the character Guy Mokay that Bruno portrayed in his sketch troupe. The naming was described as a symbolic and touching tribute. Comedian Manu Joucla agreed to act as the animal’s godfather, saying, “J’ai les yeux d’un gamin dès que je vois une bestiole!” and noting that “Mokayyy, c’est à l’image de Bruno: décalé, souffle.” The event was celebrated by staff and fans as a joyful homage to the late entertainer.
