Bruntál woodworking facility destroyed by fire
A large fire broke out at a woodworking facility in Bruntál, Czech Republic, on Thursday, September 17. The blaze, which involved a hall and stored wood, prompted a second-degree fire alarm.
Seven firefighting units, including professional teams from Bruntál and Rýmařov and several volunteer units, responded to the emergency call received at 11:33 PM. Firefighters utilized seven water streams to combat the flames from both inside and outside the building. To fully extinguish the fire, crews had to dismantle and soak through the stored wood, assisted by a loader provided by the owner.
The fire was localized within two hours of the initial report, and full liquidation took an additional two hours. Authorities confirmed that no one was inside the building at the time of the incident.
Police and fire investigators are currently examining the cause of the fire. The investigation involves forensic experts and a handler with a service dog trained to detect accelerants.
