Brusciano begins 151st Festa dei Gigli celebrations
The 151st Festa dei Gigli has commenced in Brusciano, marking eleven days of celebrations dedicated to Sant’Antonio di Padova. The event, which is part of the Inventario del Patrimonio Culturale Immateriale Campano, features religious processions, musical performances, and traditional parades.
To manage the expected influx of visitors, the municipality has established a large pedestrian area and allocated approximately 200,000 euros for safety, security, and healthcare services. Mayor Giacomo Romano emphasized that public safety and the protection of the festival are top priorities.
In conjunction with the festivities, the second edition of the “Tra Talento e Passione” competition, organized by the local Democratic Party, will take place on August 26. The contest encourages young people to engage with their cultural roots through musical and literary works dedicated to the Festa dei Gigli.
