Brussels Airlines and KLM announce network and fleet expansions

Brussels Airlines has announced significant network expansions for the summer 2027 season, headlined by the addition of Cairo, Egypt, to its schedule. Starting March 29, 2027, the airline will operate five weekly flights to Cairo, with plans to potentially expand to year-round service. The airline is also increasing capacity to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, with a third weekly flight following its June 2026 launch, and boosting frequencies to several European destinations including Funchal, Malaga, and Nice.

KLM is upgrading its service to the Caribbean for the upcoming winter season. The airline will replace Airbus A330 aircraft with larger Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-10 models on routes to Aruba and Bonaire. This shift is designed to increase seat capacity in the World Business Class and Premium Comfort Class to meet rising demand for premium travel. Additionally, KLM is expanding its service to Curaçao, offering nine weekly flights during the winter season, increasing to ten flights per week in January and February.
