Brussels Airport restores high-speed rail connection via Deutsche Bahn

Brussels Airport has reconnected to the international high-speed rail network with the arrival of the first Deutsche Bahn ICE train from Cologne on September 7. This marks the first time the airport has had a direct high-speed rail connection since 2015.

Through a partnership between Brussels Airlines and Deutsche Bahn, passengers can now book a single ticket that combines rail and air travel. This intermodal service allows travelers to connect to over 180 destinations. Popular routes for this combined booking include New York, Accra, and Alicante.

The service includes two daily round trips between Cologne and Antwerp, with stops at Brussels Airport. Passengers benefit from guaranteed connections in the event of delays and can accumulate Miles & More miles through the Lufthansa Group. Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport, stated that the service is an important step in developing the airport as an intermodal hub and offering sustainable travel options.
