Brute 1986 horror sequel acquires North American and UK distribution rights

Cinephobia Releasing has acquired the North American and UK distribution rights for Brute 1986, a horror sequel directed by Marcel Walz. The film serves as a follow-up to the previous year’s Brute 1976.

Shifting from a 1970s homage to an 1980s aesthetic, the plot centers on the glam metal band Leather Kobra during a music video shoot in a deserted town. The production becomes a violent encounter when they cross paths with the Birdy family. The film features Bill Kaulitz, who also contributes original music, alongside returning cast members Dazelle Yvette, Sarah French, and Gigi Gustin, as well as horror veteran Lew Temple.

Brute 1986 is scheduled to have its world premiere at Tubi FrightFest Halloween on October 31, 2026.
