BRVM bond market capitalization rises following Côte d'Ivoire bond listings

The BRVM bond market capitalization rose significantly to 13,626.205 billion FCFA on September 25, 2026, following the first listing of two Côte d'Ivoire government bond issues. These bonds, totaling approximately 623 billion FCFA, were issued to finance state investments and manage debt exchanges.

In the equity market, the BRVM composite index rose 1.72% to 540.78 points, pushing total equity capitalization above 21,000 billion FCFA. Other regional market activity included Sonatel rising 1.46% and Bridge Bank Group Côte d'Ivoire closing up 7.44%.

Elsewhere in African finance, Airtel Money CEO Ian Ferrao indicated that a projected London listing aims to provide strategic flexibility for the company, which serves over 50 million monthly active customers. In Zambia, Mercuria and Exergy signed a $250 million financing agreement for electricity production and transmission projects. Additionally, South Africa's South32 announced a final 2026 dividend of 86.60866 ZAR per share.
