Bryan Hudson excels in first start for New York Giants

Bryan Hudson made his first career NFL start at center for the New York Giants during their 36-24 Week 4 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Hudson, a 2024 undrafted free agent from Louisville, stepped in for incumbent starter John Michael Schmitz, who missed recent practices following the birth of his first child.

Hudson played 67 offensive snaps without allowing a single pressure, recording a 91.3% pass block win rate. His performance has sparked discussion regarding the team's depth at the position, as his Week 4 grades were notably high compared to Schmitz’s career averages.

Head coach John Harbaugh noted that while the decision to start Hudson was based on the immediate circumstances, the team values both players. Harbaugh described the situation as a “good problem to have” and indicated that the move was not intended as a long-term change to the depth chart.
