Bryan Kohberger's family supports challenge to his conviction

The family of Bryan Kohberger has announced their support for his efforts to challenge his 2025 conviction. Kohberger is currently serving four consecutive life sentences for the murders of four college students in Idaho.

In legal petitions, Kohberger has claimed that his plea deal was based on false promises and disinformation, asserting that he was “convinced to falsely confess” to a crime he did not commit. He has also requested a new judge, alleging that Judge Steven Hippler demonstrated bias during his sentencing proceedings.

In a statement, the Kohberger family expressed that their support for his pursuit of post-conviction relief is driven by a need to uncover the “complete and unvarnished truth” through a proper trial. The family stated they seek a conclusive resolution through the legal process while maintaining respect for the victims and the Moscow community.
