Bryan Ruiz nears official appointment as Costa Rica national team coach
The Costa Rican Football Federation (Fedefútbol) is expected to formally announce Bryan Ruiz as the permanent head coach of the national team. While a verbal agreement has reportedly been reached, the final step involves the official signing of the contract following a meeting of the Fedefútbol Executive Committee.
Ruiz, who previously served as an interim coach, secured his candidacy after leading the team to victories against Nicaragua and Haiti. The proposed long-term project could see Ruiz leading the squad through the 2030 World Cup cycle. His technical staff includes physical trainer Marcelo Tulbovitz.
If the appointment is finalized, Ruiz will face immediate challenges in November with friendly matches scheduled against Ecuador in Guayaquil and Argentina in a location to be determined by the Argentine Football Association.
