Bryan Seaver seeks delay in Dolly Parton estate restraining order hearing
Bryan Seaver, the nephew of the late country music icon Dolly Parton, has filed a motion in a Tennessee court requesting a delay for a restraining order hearing. Seaver, who is currently representing himself, is seeking to postpone the hearing—originally scheduled for October 9—by approximately 10 days to allow time to retain legal counsel.
The restraining order was filed by She’s Alive, LLC, the entity managed by Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell to oversee her estate and professional trust. The estate has accused Seaver and his company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, of extortion, coercion, and making threats of violence. Court documents allege that Seaver sent threatening messages to employees, claiming to be an “international arms dealer and mercenary” and a “killer,” and threatened to “destroy the entire brand” of Parton’s legacy.
In granting the initial temporary restraining order, Chancellor I’Ashea L. Myles cited concerns regarding Seaver’s alleged access to weapons and his stated intention to retaliate. Seaver, who served as Parton’s head of security for over two decades and was the individual who announced her death on August 25, has pushed back against the allegations, stating that his comments do not qualify as threats and that there have been “unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” following the singer's passing.
