Bryce Underwood shows signs of growth at Michigan

Michigan Wolverines sophomore quarterback Bryce Underwood is showing signs of development following a challenging freshman season. During his first year, Underwood completed 202 of 335 passes for 2,428 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while adding 392 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Coaches noted that while Underwood had an inconsistent spring, he made significant strides over the summer. Quarterbacks coach Koy Detmer Jr. stated that Underwood met the challenges posed to him during the off-season. Improvements have been specifically noted in his pocket presence and footwork, addressing issues from last season where he often bailed from the pocket or struggled with positioning.

With a returning offensive line and new coaching support, including dedicated quarterback coaching, the focus for Underwood's sophomore campaign is on improved decision-making and consistency.
