Bryce Young leads NFL in passing yards amid Panthers defensive struggles

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has emerged as a leading NFL offensive force, currently leading the league in passing yards with 1,268. Following a 32-26 victory over the Detroit Lions, Young has received MVP chants from fans in Charlotte as the Panthers maintain a high-scoring offense.

However, the team faces significant defensive challenges heading into their bye week. The Panthers' secondary has struggled, notably allowing 412 passing yards to the Lions and 59 points in a previous game against Chicago. The defensive unit has been further weakened by a major injury to cornerback Jaycee Horn, who has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn quad. Head coach Dave Canales confirmed Horn will be out indefinitely while seeking a second opinion.
