Brynne Edelsten’s case reduced to drug possession charges

Former reality‑TV personality Brynne Edelsten, 43, appeared before Melbourne Magistrates Court and was told the prosecution will no longer pursue drug‑trafficking charges. Her lawyer, barrister Veronika Drago, said the matter has been resolved to two possession offences – methamphetamine and the depressant GHB – after she originally faced nine counts, including one for trafficking a commercial quantity of methamphetamine.

Magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano adjourned the case until 12 August 2026, when Edelsten is expected to apply to have the matter finalised. Her bail conditions require her to report to police three times a week and to surrender her passport. The case had previously been on track to proceed in the County Court.

Edelsten is the American‑born former wife of the late businessman and former GP Geoffrey Edelsten, who owned the Sydney Swans in the 1980s and died in 2021.
