Bryson DeChambeau remains committed to LIV Golf amid league restructuring

Two-time U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau is set to compete in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa from December 3–6. This marks his first appearance in a regular DP World Tour event since 2022.

Despite a growing exodus of high-profile players like Jon Rahm and Louis Oosthuizen, DeChambeau remains committed to the LIV Golf circuit. Reports indicate he is working behind the scenes to support the transition to ‘LIV Golf 2.0’. This follows LIV Golf’s filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States after the Saudi Public Investment Fund withdrew its funding.

The proposed restructuring aims for a 2027 launch under the LIV Golf 2.0 banner, potentially backed by a $300 million investment from BC Partners. While DeChambeau’s representatives have held discussions with the DP World Tour regarding more frequent play in 2027, the tour’s CEO, Guy Kinnings, has stated that players will no longer be permitted to combine DP World Tour membership with LIV Golf participation in the same manner as before.
