Garamvölgyi László resumes police communications role as five Bosnian climbers die on Elbrus

Retired colonel Garamvölgyi László has been re‑appointed as the chief communications adviser to Hungary’s national police force. He emphasised that secrecy is a mistake and that the police must provide timely, transparent information to the public, likening modern police communication to a well‑managed brand.

A tragic mountaineering accident on Russia’s Elbrus claimed the lives of five Bosnian‑Herzegovinian climbers. The expedition was caught in a sudden severe storm; two members survived after one descended on his own and the other was rescued by emergency teams, while the remaining three remain missing under hazardous conditions.
