BSF rescues 10 Bangladeshi nationals from River Ganga drowning

The Border Security Force (BSF) rescued 10 Bangladeshi nationals, including three children and a 30-day-old infant, after their boat capsized in the strong currents of the River Ganga on September 12.

The rescue was conducted by the 71 Battalion of the BSF Malda Sector after personnel near the Khandua Border Out Post noticed individuals struggling in the water. Following the operation, a flag meeting was held between the BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to facilitate the return of the survivors. The rescued group, consisting of four men, three women, and three children, was handed over to BGB authorities.

While the 10 survivors are reported to be in stable condition, one individual remains missing. The victims are residents of Joharpur village in Bangladesh. The infant, who was initially in critical condition, received first aid and was stabilized at a government hospital.
