The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two senior engineers from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Bhopal for allegedly accepting bribes. The arrested individuals include the Chief Engineer (Electrical) and the Superintending Engineer (Electrical).

The investigation revealed that the officials demanded ₹2 lakh each from a firm based in Jabalpur to process 14 pending bills related to electrical installation and operations and maintenance (OCM) work. The CBI caught the engineers red-handed in Bhopal while they were accepting a partial payment of ₹75,000.

Following the arrests, the CBI conducted searches at the residential and office premises of the accused in Bhopal, Lucknow, and Kanpur. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
