BSR begins experimental sales of White Spirit solvent

BSR (Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical) has commenced the experimental sale of 40,000 liters of White Spirit, a hydrocarbon solvent used in paints, cleaning, and industrial degreasing. The initial shipment was delivered to New Generation Paint Co., Ltd. from the Dung Quat Refinery on September 30.

This move is part of BSR’s strategy to diversify its product portfolio and reduce reliance on the Jet A-1 aviation fuel market, which is subject to fluctuations in air transport demand. By developing White Spirit from a refinery segment similar to Jet A-1, the company aims to optimize its processing capabilities and create more flexible consumption channels.

Following the initial testing phase, BSR expects demand to range between 40,000 and 250,000 liters per month through December. If market feedback is positive, the company anticipates supply volumes could reach between 40,000 and 500,000 liters per month.
