Bayern Munich advances in DFB-Pokal; German women's clubs exit Champions League
In the DFB-Pokal, FC Bayern Munich advanced to the second round after a 4-1 victory against VfL Osnabrück. Despite an early goal from Osnabrück's Robin Meissner in the fifth minute, Bayern responded with goals from Harry Kane, Tom Bischof, and Michael Olise. Kane scored twice, including a late penalty, to secure the win.
In women's football, several German clubs failed to qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. Eintracht Frankfurt was eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain following a 5-1 defeat in extra time, a match complicated by a red card for Hayley Raso. VfL Wolfsburg also missed out on the tournament after losing a dramatic penalty shootout (4-5) to Inter Milan following a 1-3 result after extra time.
