Bászna agribusiness empire liquidates Gabona, Sertés and Takarmány firms

A Hungarian court ordered the liquidation of three companies linked to the Bászna agribusiness group: Bászna Gabona Zrt., Bászna Sertés Zrt., and Bászna Takarmány Kft. The moves follow the bankruptcy of Bászna Gabona, which accrued billions in debts to banks and left many farmers and traders unpaid. The group's owner, former Fidesz MP Lajos Kósa, and his family have been connected to the firms, which received substantial EU and state subsidies that may now need to be repaid. The liquidations also expose the use of luxury vehicles by the companies and raise questions about the recovery of public funds tied to the enterprises.
