Brazil financial institutions increase exposure to local equities

Major financial institutions are increasing their exposure to the Brazilian stock market following the first round of presidential elections. UBS Wealth Management has upgraded its recommendation for Brazilian equities from neutral to attractive, projecting a potential 25% upside driven by earnings growth and multiple expansion. Similarly, BTG Pactual has shifted its stance to overweight, citing expectations that the election results may pave the way for more balanced fiscal policies.

Asset managers are making tactical adjustments to client portfolios, with several increasing risk exposure through local equities and long-term inflation-linked bonds. This movement aims to position portfolios for a potential market rally. However, some analysts caution that international volatility, including interest rate uncertainty in the US and Europe, remains a significant risk factor.

In corporate news, BTG Pactual has overtaken Vale to become the third most valuable company on the B3 exchange, reaching a market value of R$ 309.6 billion. Additionally, UBS BB has raised its price target for B3, anticipating increased trading volumes and lower interest rates in Brazil.
