BTK Akademi shortlisted for QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026
BTK Akademi, the educational platform of Turkey's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), has been shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026 in the Lifelong Learning category. The platform was selected from over 2,200 projects worldwide.
BTK President Mehmet Koçyiğit highlighted that the platform provides free access to all citizens, noting that more than 3.2 million people have utilized its services to date. Beyond online courses, the initiative includes face-to-face training, camps, and collaborations with the Council of Higher Education, allowing 15 departments across 16 universities to integrate BTK Akademi lessons into their curricula.
The platform is also expanding into secondary education through an Artificial Intelligence Literacy Program launched with the Ministry of National Education. Following teacher training in 11 pilot provinces, the program will now roll out to high school students to promote the responsible use of AI.
