BTN awaits BP Tapera regulations for 40-year mortgage scheme

PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) is prepared to implement a mortgage (KPR) scheme with tenors of up to 40 years, specifically targeting subsidized housing through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP).

BTN President Director Nixon L. P. Napitupulu stated that the bank is currently awaiting technical implementing regulations from the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) before the product can be marketed and distributed to the public. The program is intended to assist low-income individuals, particularly first-time homebuyers, by reducing monthly installment amounts.

Napitupulu noted that longer tenors are expected to increase public purchasing power by making housing more affordable through lower monthly payments. Once the necessary regulations from BP Tapera are issued, the bank expects significant interest in the program, which could also drive credit growth for BTN.
