BTS member V receives death threats ahead of Latin American tour

BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) has reportedly received death threats from a fan on social media ahead of the group’s upcoming Latin American leg of the ‘ARIRANG’ world tour. The threats, allegedly posted by a user from Brazil on TikTok, included messages stating that V ‘would not live to leave Latin America’ and suggesting a countdown had begun.

The individual behind the posts reportedly identified as a ‘Jikook’ shipper (a fan of the pairing between members Jimin and Jungkook), targeting V due to his involvement in other popular fan pairings. The threatening content also made disturbing references to V’s late grandmother and his pet.

In response, global fans have launched campaigns using hashtags such as ‘PROTECT TAEHYUNG’ and ‘BIGHIT AND HYBE TAKE ACTION.’ Fans are urging HYBE and Big Hit Music to preserve evidence, investigate the accounts, and coordinate with local authorities and venues to increase security during the tour. The tour is scheduled to visit Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil, starting in Bogota on October 2.
