BTS begins Santiago concerts at Estadio Nacional despite heavy rains
The South Korean group BTS has begun its ‘Arirang World Tour’ in Santiago, Chile, with three scheduled performances at the Estadio Nacional. Despite recent heavy rains and flooding in the Santiago area, Ñuñoa Mayor Sebastián Sichel confirmed that the stadium's central coliseum and access points remain operational and undamaged for the event.
While the storm caused flooding in the stadium's sports complex and surrounding streets, the specific infrastructure for the concerts is unaffected. Local authorities have implemented safety measures, including a specialized transport system for minors. Additionally, the municipality has issued warnings against unauthorized camping in public spaces near the venue to maintain order and neighborhood coexistence.
The tour marks the group's return to Chile after nearly a decade and follows the members' completion of mandatory military service in South Korea.
