B'Tselem warns of ethnic cleansing in the West Bank

The Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem has warned of an accelerating policy of ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. The organization reported that settlers are attempting to forcibly displace two Palestinian families from their homes in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, to seize their property.

According to B'Tselem, settlers established an outpost in the courtyards of the two homes and have continued to blockade access to them. The organization stated that the Israeli military has failed to remove the settlers or provide protection to the families, noting that dozens of settlers blocked the access road to the homes. Video footage reportedly shows settlers and Israeli soldiers praying together at the newly established outpost near the residences.

B'Tselem Executive Director Yuli Novak stated that the situation in Qusra is not an isolated incident, alleging that settler militias, supported by the Israeli army, are expanding attacks on Palestinian villages to seize land and force families to leave. The organization cited similar patterns of land and home seizures in other West Bank areas, including Ein Sinia, Turmus Ayya, Al-Masoudiya, Beita, and Abu Falah.
