btv technologies introduces btv SEEL to secure microcontroller programming

btv technologies has introduced btv SEEL (Secure Element Programming), a patent-pending security method designed to protect microcontrollers during the programming phase. The technology aims to secure firmware, certificates, and cryptographic information at the critical moment when software is transferred to hardware.

This development addresses vulnerabilities in the manufacturing process, which are increasingly targeted in supply chain attacks. According to ENISA, two-thirds of such attacks focus on the code and processes of suppliers. The btv SEEL method helps manufacturers comply with regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the Medical Device Regulation (MDR), the NIS-2 Directive, and the Data Act by creating secure and auditable device identities.
