Bu-hwal-nam: The Red tops South Korean film reservation rankings

The upcoming action film ‘Bu-hwal-nam: The Red’, based on a popular webtoon, has reached number one in ticket reservations among South Korean films scheduled for release in the same period. Directed by Baek Jong-yeol, the film follows Seok-hwan, a job seeker who discovers he has the ability to resurrect 72 hours after death, only to find himself pursued by a mysterious group.

Lead actor Gu Kyo-hwan described the film as a “simple and intuitive” killing-time movie that focuses on a unique worldview. He noted that the film features a distinct color symbolism for the main characters: red for his character, black for Shin Seung-ho, and blue for Kim Yoo-jung. The production is expected to target audiences during the upcoming October holidays, including National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day.
