Buan Coast Guard rescues two fishermen from waves
The Buan Coast Guard conducted an emergency rescue of two fishermen near Hawangdeungdo Island in Jeonbuk Province. The two individuals, both in their 60s, were swept off a coastal rock by surging waves while fishing on the morning of October 24.
After being rescued by a nearby fishing vessel, the patients were transported by the Coast Guard to Gyeokpo Port and handed over to emergency medical services. Both individuals were conscious and sustained no life-threatening injuries. Buan Coast Guard Chief Kim Seung-won advised citizens to wear life jackets and exercise caution near coastal rocks due to the increased risk of surging waves during the autumn season.
