Buan County identifies 39 new projects for 2028–29 national budget

Buan County has identified 39 new projects for the 2028–2029 national budget, totaling 835.6 billion KRW. Of this amount, 559.5 billion KRW is sought in national funds, with 85.2 billion KRW requested specifically for 2028.

Key initiatives include the construction of a National Saemangeum Horse Museum, an AI-based demand-responsive transportation system with autonomous call buses, and a Saemangeum RE100-linked seawater-cooled AI data center and wellness complex. Other proposed projects involve a fishing complex town, tidal flat public resource utilization, a carbon neutrality experience center, and a national testbed for Saemangeum-style floating structures.

Vice Governor Bang Sang-yun emphasized the importance of securing national funds to address local issues and improve residents' quality of life given the difficult fiscal conditions of local governments. The county plans to strengthen cooperation with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and central government ministries to ensure these projects are reflected in national budget planning.
