Buan County targets top performance rankings and concludes council session

Buan County has initiated preparations for the 2026 local government joint performance evaluation. The county aims to achieve first place among county-level administrations and reach a 96% indicator achievement rate. To support this, the county is conducting monthly self-inspections and focusing on improving underperforming indicators across 75 specific metrics.

Concurrently, the Buan County Council concluded its 374th regular session. During the session, the council reviewed and approved various motions, including a revised supplementary budget of approximately 935.1 billion KRW, after cutting 1.4 billion KRW from the original proposal.

Key legislative discussions included calls for better compensation for residents affected by the Buan Dam, requests for collaborative development regarding the Saemangeum New Port jurisdiction, and proposals for marine waste management. Council members also advocated for protecting soybean farmers and attracting the Korea South-West Power headquarters to the region to promote balanced national development.
