BUAP Adult University expands lifelong learning programs

The Universidad para Adultos de la BUAP (UpA) has established itself as a national reference for lifelong learning and social inclusion in Mexico. Designed to eliminate generational barriers, the institution provides academic opportunities to adults over the age of 25 through workshops, courses, diplomas, and degrees.

Since its inception in 2016, the program has seen significant growth. Originally starting with four courses and approximately 54 students, the enrollment has risen to over 1,300 people per period. For the Autumn 2026 term, the university expects to welcome 2,000 participants across an offering of 116 courses.

The curriculum is organized into 11 areas known as ‘constellations,’ covering diverse subjects such as physical movement, health, history, art, and cooking. Completing courses within these areas in a staggered manner allows students the opportunity to earn diplomas.
