Mexico hosts various community and university sporting events

Various community and academic sporting events took place across Mexico. In Puebla, the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) held its 22nd annual University Race, attracting over 30,000 participants. Led by Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez, the 6.5km event featured a commemorative puzzle-piece medal system for the first 2,000 finishers.

In Tamaulipas, the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) organized the Gran Rodada UAT 14K in Ciudad Victoria to mark International University Sports Day. Approximately 600 participants joined Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado in the cycling event. Additionally, UAT announced a pedagogical training program for faculty members focused on socioformation and learning assessment.

Other regional activities included the “Corriendo por la Vida” race in Veracruz, organized by AMANC to support children with cancer, which saw over 1,170 runners. In Jalisco, the “Jalisco Corre por la Paz” event brought together 1,000 citizens and security forces to promote community trust through sport. In Ciudad Juárez, the JMAS held its fourth annual water conservation race, raising funds for cancer treatment.

In Baja California Sur, the UABCS community participated in the National Drill 2026, involving 1,240 individuals in emergency evacuation exercises.
