BUAP hosts international congress on sports medicine for football
BUAP is hosting the First International Congress of Sports Medicine Applied to Football on September 10 and 11 at the Ciudad Universitaria Convention Center. The event aims to train specialists in sports medicine, physical preparation, and rehabilitation.
Miguel López Serrano, Director of Sport and Physical Culture, stated the meeting is designed to strengthen professional knowledge and foster collaboration. The congress features national and international specialists, including Luis Alfredo Sixtos Melitón from the Mexican Football Federation, who discussed using artificial intelligence and new technologies to prevent injuries in high-performance football.
In addition to lectures on functional rehabilitation, pediatric sports impact, and physical preparation, the program includes workshops on sports taping, functional evaluation, and hyperbaric chambers.
