José Ramón Eguibar Cuenca receives Gregorio Pérez Palacios award

Dr. José Ramón Eguibar Cuenca, a researcher at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), has been awarded the “Gregorio Pérez Palacios” award for academic career excellence. The honor was presented during the 51st Annual Meeting of the Academia de Investigación en Biología de la Reproducción (AIBIR) held at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) campus in Querétaro.

The award recognizes Eguibar Cuenca’s significant contributions and research impact within the field of reproductive biology. The prize is named after Gregorio Pérez Palacios, a scientist noted for his work in biology and family planning programs in Mexico.

Eguibar Cuenca, who serves as the Director General of Internationalization at BUAP, has a career spanning over four decades. His academic background includes neurosciences and physiology, with a publication record featuring over 80 international articles and numerous books. He has held leadership roles in the Sociedad Mexicana de Ciencias Fisiológicas and AIBIR.
