BUAP launches University Micro-credential Model for staff development

The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) has officially introduced its University Micro-credential Model. Led by Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez, the initiative is designed to enhance the professional development and continuous training of university personnel through flexible, modular, and short-term educational pathways.

Sandro Reyes Soto, Director of Human Resources, stated that the model is built upon three core pillars: learning, evaluation, and evidence. The program aims to respond to the evolving demands of the modern labor market by providing cumulative and adaptable training.

To mark the launch, Rector Cedillo presented 38 certifications in high-demand fields, including Generative AI, Python, and Excel. These programs were implemented through a collaboration between the Human Resources and Sustainable Development directorates, alongside the Academic Personnel Union of BUAP (ASPABUAP).

Interested staff can access the call for applications via the Human Resources website starting September 25. The micro-credential catalog will be available from September 28 to October 2, with the registration period covering the annual cycle from September 2026 to August 2027.
