BUAP para-athletes excel in national and international competitions

Para-athletes from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) achieved significant results at the 2026 Mexican Para Athletics Circuit held at the National Center for Sports Talent Development and High Performance (CNAR). The event featured 519 athletes, including Paralympic and Pan American medalists.

Hanna Camila Vázquez García, a law student, secured first place in the long jump and ranked sixth in the Americas. She also competed in the 100 and 200-meter sprints. Her performance was supported by guides Valeria Morido Navarro for track events and Irma Suárez Aragón for the long jump.

Alexander Romero Calderón, a student at the Enrique Cabrera Barroso Urban Preparatory School, earned second place overall in the 400 meters. Additionally, Romero Calderón secured a bronze medal in the 400 meters (T11 classification) during the Tlaxcala 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix, improving his national ranking. He was accompanied by guide Miguel Ángel Carreón López.
