BUAP welcomes 920 students to 2026 Delfín summer research programme

The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) received 920 students for the 31st edition of the Verano de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica del Pacífico 2026, part of the Programa Delfín. Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez highlighted the university’s prestige and the high demand for its researchers, noting that most participants are attracted to the quality of the labs.

Students from Mexico, Colombia and other countries will join. 826 students from across Mexico and 85 from Colombia will attend in person, while participants from Peru, Nicaragua and Costa Rica will follow the program virtually. The most requested fields are medicine and health, biological sciences, chemistry and engineering. Regional campuses also take part, with 19 students at the Nororiental campus and 29 at other complexes, expanding research opportunities beyond the main Puebla campus.

José Ramón Eguibar Cuenca, director of BUAP’s Internationalisation Office, confirmed the hybrid modality and emphasized the programme’s role in strengthening postgraduate research across the Pacific region.
