Buc-ee’s announces expansion plans in North Carolina
Buc-ee’s is seeking approval for a second travel center in North Carolina, located at the southeast corner of I-95 and Highway 4 in Rocky Mount. The proposed $60 million project is expected to occupy 74,000 square feet, provide 120 fueling positions, and generate over $30 million in annual taxable sales.
The Rocky Mount location is projected to create 200 permanent, full-time jobs with starting wages between $18 and $21 per hour, along with benefits. The company is working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Nash County officials to improve highway infrastructure necessary for the site.
This follows the company's first North Carolina location in Mebane, which broke ground in June and is expected to open in late 2027. As part of a broader expansion, Buc-ee’s also plans to open new locations in several states, including Wisconsin, Louisiana, and Kansas, throughout 2027.
